8 each of genestealers, hormagaunts, and gaunts, with 3 warriors and a carnifex!

Here’s the little guys assembled, and based, awaiting calm weather for an undercoat:

There’s 3 space marines in there as well as I’m seeing how they ‘wattyl’, as well as a couple of older genestealers that Dr Dave kindly donated to the horde. I rebased a couple of my warriors with 40mm round bases (but am 4 short to do the others), and did my 2nd Biovore and a couple of spore mines.

And here’s me new big Carnifex … makes his older associate look teeny. Gotta greenstuff him before I base and undercoat.

Heh! I played pretty badly this time, 4 things aside from tactics brought me low

1. Tyranid get an extra dice for difficult terrain (i was thinking normally you get one dice, so i was throwing 2) … i should have been throwing three = Broodlord didn’t get into play
2. … assaulting a vehicle with gargoyles in turn 1 when under the impression it was a jetbike (cc’able) type of thing = all gargoyles dead by my turn 2
3. … forgetting that you have to assault the target of your shooting = enemy flyer survives even though my carnifex could’ve had a go at 3x str9 cc hits on it
4. … forgetting to hit and run = lictor losing at least 2 attack dice, which could easily have affected their survivability

The 1750 take and hold marathon did start well for me though with scotty putting on an exemplary display of dice throwing – his 5 to-hit dice throw for his fire dragons on my armless carnifex … 4 2’s needed:

Fixed the biovore’s base and played with some static grass for a hormagaunt’s base.
